Katherine Hernandez, LMT, specializes in helping people with carpal tunnel syndrome and plantar fasciitis, in addition to the elderly, those with Traumatic Brain Injury, and people who have had spinal surgery.

When she was a massage student at Lansing Community College, her skill, intuition, and compassion caught the attention of Kate Prouty, the owner of Patient Relaxation LLC, an instructor.Her fellow students said "She has hands like velvet," and her interest in evidence-based practice set her apart from the others. After a year of Katherine working in various settings, Kate invited her to join the Patient Relaxation team.


Newly married, Katherine is a long time resident of Lansing, excels at sports, drawing, and writing. Her goals include participating in more high-level training in massage for hands and feet, and contributing to the Patient Relaxation blog.

Katherine Hernandez is one of the best massage therapists I've been to! She has a very effective massage technique in general, and neck specifically, I love! I feel very comfortable during the massage. She always checks to make sure the pressure is what I'm looking for and she always remembers the things I prefer to skip in a massage. I always feel relaxed and calm when I leave my appointment.

Katherine did an excellent job! She adjusted the heat and the pressure of the massage according to my preference. I had great pain relief from the massage.

Katherine was very, very good. The way she starts with small hands on pressure and gently increases pressure helps put your body into a relaxation mode. Her skill with scalp, hand and foot massage is beyond compare. I fell asleep while she was working on me, that is how relaxed I became!
