Integrated Neuromuscular Re-education: Positional Release

1. Identify the anatomy and physiology in regards to positional release. 2. Identify between the types of releases: direct vs. indirect. 3. Recognize the Kinetic Chain Theory and how it applies to positional release techniques. 4. Identify the treatment principles and three outcomes of performing positional release techniques (PRT). 5. Recognize three indications and contraindications for PRT.

Muscle Energy Technique (MET) & Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Re-education (PNF)

1. Discuss the role of neuromuscular reflexes in mediating neuromotor activity in normal and pathological conditions. 2. Define somatic dysfunction and discuss its effect on functional biomechanics. 3. Explain the role of muscle energy technique (MET) and proprioceptive neuromuscular re-education (PNF) in the management of limited range of motion and weakness. 4. Design a treatment plan using MET/PNF to improve mobility, strength and function. 5. Discuss the evidence-based research for MET/PNF.
