Sports massage for athletes preparing for the Olympics. Regular therapists for the men's & women's Rugby team. Stretching, recovery & special focus on problem areas were my primary tasks for helping these incredible athletes stay in the competitive condition needed in this high level arena.
I enjoyed many years of working on several of the San Diego Chargers before they left town. I also participated as a recovery massage therapist at their grueling spring training camp.
For over a decade I worked with the senior population of La Jolla, including clients at Casa De Manana, White Sands & the Patrician. I focused on stretching & pain relief from arthritis and other age related issues.
I became a certified cupping therapist in 2019. I learned traditional cupping using glass cups & fire, medi-cupping using a pump & my favorite.... sports cupping. Sports cupping uses soft silicone cups that can be moved around for a nice flushing movement & can be left on while stretching. I also learned facial cupping, which feels lovely, but more importantly pumps up the skin, increasing circulation & the overall health of the skin. Facial cupping can also help relieve jaw tension.
My experience as a fitness trainer has helped me easily transition into sports massage. Both include stretching and focusing on ailments common to athletic activities to help clients achieve their fitness & recreational aspirations.
Located inside the San Diego Tennis & Racquet Club, many of my clients from the club are athletic in nature. The club not only is home to many tennis players, but also has a full gym and group classes, so I have been able to help many of these participants with their aches & pains through sports massage techniques such as stretching, flushing out muscles & focusing on the problem areas to keep them going in their activities.
