Thank you for stopping by my profile. My name is Simone Holderbach. I am the owner and founder of Eastside Bodywork LLC in Kirkland, Washington, and specialize in pain relief and movement dysfunctions.

Manual therapy is such a personal experience and you have many therapists to choose from. So let me give you a little more information about myself and my professional focus:

I had worked as a business development manager for many years in my native Germany. After I had my second baby I knew that staying in the corporate world wouldn't allow me to spend enough time with my young son and daughter. I was looking for a career that would let me have a better work/life balance which I consider super important for everyone. I also knew that I wanted to do something where people would leave me feeling better than when they first met me. I remember the moment distinctly when I realized that I wanted to become a massage therapist. I never doubted that decision for one second afterwards! I found my passion in making people feel great and having a positive impact on their lives!!!

After graduating with high honors from the Institute for Therapeutic Massage in New Jersey in 2011, I opened up my first private practice 'Magnificent You - massage therapy & bodywork' in Princeton, NJ. Initially, I focused mostly on relaxation massages and stress reduction. To this day I firmly believe that relaxation is one of the most important health benefits of massage therapy. However, I am also trained in medical massage and was able to help many of my clients with a multitude of different conditions to find pain relief and improve function. I completed several additional trainings: I became a Certified Prenatal and Postpartum Massage Specialist, and a Certified Massage Cupping Practitioner. Soon I had more appointment requests than time slots available and I was lucky enough to hire several wonderful therapists to work with me at Magnificent You.

In 2013 my family relocated from New Jersey to Washington State and I fell in love with the Pacific Northwest. While I was getting the kids settled into their new schools and learning my way around the Seattle area, I began to take a strong interest in neurology-based bodywork. After all, everything in our body is governed by the brain and the central nervous system. I wanted to know more about how to take that into account to improve bodywork outcomes and help more clients.

I began an in-depth training in NeuroMuscular Reprogramming and NeuroKinetic Therapy, two methods which use manual muscle testing to assess neuromuscular functioning and coordination. I love this work! It is like being a body detective trying to find out which muscles might overcompensate for which other muscle and reversing that dysfunction. The results are amazing. Even stubborn conditions which hadn't responded previously to other forms of therapy can often be helped successfully.

Myofascial Release is another modality that I deepened my knowledge of. Studying under the gifted physical therapist and lecturer Walt Fritz made me fall in love with the gentleness and effectiveness of this work. Gentle, sustained pressure into dysfunctional tissues reduces pain, feels great, and brings release to fascial restrictions.

Currently I am working on getting my certification as a Corrective Exercise Specialist (CES) through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM).

My practice, Eastside Bodywork - NeuroMuscular Therapy and Massage, opened in March 2015 in Kirkland, WA.

You can probably tell by now that I love to learn! And while my clients are my best teachers, I like to broaden my horizon by attending new continuing education classes every year. That way, I can make sure to stay on top of current research and to be adding new skills and techniques to my skill set to even better serve my clients in the future.

I would love to meet YOU one day.

Until then,

be well, be you, be magnificent!

Simone
