Rochelle’s healing and wellness journey began almost two decades ago, when she found her dharma through the art of massage. Soon, she had completed more than 1,200 hours of training and started her own practice, focusing her body work sessions on clients’ specific needs to achieve long-lasting results. Since then, she has been sought after by countless local musicians, artists, athletes, adrenaline junkies and others for her ability to help prevent and treat injuries. Rochelle was further shaped as a bodyworker when, while healing from breast cancer, she discovered yoga. She instantly recognized the deep synergies between yoga and bodywork and the connection between breath and body, and what began as a healing practice for herself, soon developed into a full-blown passion. Wanting to share yoga’s numerous benefits with others, she became an instructor, completing a 200-hour Anusara teacher training in 2012 and in 2014 a 230-hour training with Vira Bhava Yoga. For Rochelle, it’s hard to tell where work ends and the rest of her life begins; for her, they are fluid and overlapping. She uses massage and yoga as a way to set goals, find clarity and purpose, and re-energize — a way to be a better parent and communicator, fulfill her potential, and find inspiration. In short, her practice keeps her plugged into the rhythms of life, and her passion lies in using it to help clients and students find their own purpose, shift energy, and make profound emotional changes in their lives. Beginning in January 2018, she will begin the 300-hour teacher training with Vira Bhava Yoga working toward her 500-hour RYT. But wherever her path takes her, one thing is certain. As a therapist, instructor, activist, mother and global citizen, she is steadfastly committed to helping people become more comfortable in their own bodies and more connected to themselves, each other, and the world around them.
