Self-care is the new health care!

The human body is AMAZING! THIS is what drew me to massage. The body is our first and most important vehicle. Caring for this precious body with kindness and curiosity, feeding it well and moving well, are all part of living a full life. Muscle strain, scars and muscle imbalances can slow us down. It impacts the integrity of our form. Like a suspension bridge, if a cable were cut, the integrity of the bridge is impacted. I think of a muscle weakness like a suspension bridge cable being cut......

I think of a muscle weakness like a suspension bridge cable being cut...the integrity of the body shifts. We can’t get optimal partnership with our body.  This is what inspires me to partner with people around their own wellness goals through massage.

I am bringing my understanding of how muscles work, and my intuition, to each client in service of what is optimal in any given moment.

Specialties include: neuromuscular, trigger point, stretching and myofascial decompression (cupping); support for people undergoing oncology treatments; pregnant and postpartum women; massage with orthopedic intent; and scar release. I also offer Swedish massage and am available for corporate chair massage.

When I am not partnering with people for their wellness goals, I enjoy meditating, hiking, kayaking, community singing, swimming, Scuba-diving, enjoying my adults kids, reading working puzzles with others and traveling.

Past work includes: parenting three great people; not-for-profit work around natural health care; teaching world languages to young people; community organizing around cultural events; working with women who undergo postpartum depression/anxiety; grocery retail; and directing a threshold choir (singing for people who are transitioning from this life).

Cynthia listened, asked pertinent questions. She explained all steps of the massage/ treatment. It was wonderful! She also gave me several suggestions for self care.

The amazing thing about a skilled massage therapist is the ability to calm the body's inflammatory processes. That's exactly what happened to me during my last massage with Cynthia Schroer! It was a very hot day and I'd been outside working in the morning; even after a cold shower I was SO hot when I walked in for my appointment. Cynthia went to work, and after 75 minutes of massage therapy I felt immensely better. But the best thing was that, when I went back outside, I no longer felt hot! Decreased inflammation leads to cooler body temperature. What great results! Thank you SO much, Cynthia!

Relaxing environment with Cynthia, a very qualified massage therapist. Considerate of client’s issues and receptive to problem areas and any questions. Amazing knowledge and open to explanations. She’s really good at what she does for me!

Cynthia has the knack for making you feel relaxed and comfortable even before your massage. She expertly concentrated on the areas that were giving me the most trouble. Besides all her expertise in the art of massage, she gave me information on ways to continue my care at home. I had a great experience with Cynthia. And highly recommend her. Next appt. is already booked.
