Mayumi was born in Tokyo, Japan. With an active youth, she did everything from competitive swimming to four years as a semi-pro Basketball player. Currently she likes to be outside a lot! She enjoys yoga, hiking, biking, skiing, snowboarding and traveling. Through the years she saw her share of injuries, leading her down the path of how to remedy the ailments. Mayumi is a Licensed Massage Therapist, Certified Ayurvedic Therapist and Certified 200 hour Anusara Yoga teacher. In Japan, she had been trained in Shiatsu and Sport Massage since 1992. She moved to New York in 1998 where she continued her studies for Shiatsu. In 2008 she obtained her 1200 hours, Master Massage Therapist Degree in Phoenix, AZ. Then in 2015, she traveled to Goa, India where she trained for six weeks to gain a certificate in Ayurvedic Therapy and Nutrition. Her goal is the support of her clients and to provide a safe haven to receive true therapeutic touch. Whether for recovery, chronic pain, or relaxation, her clients will meet their goals so they will be able to work hard and play harder.
