Before studying acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, Shane worked for over 20 years in the western healthcare system in administrative directorship roles.
He has served in the past as an officer within the local acupuncture association. In 1997, Shane designed and implemented the acupuncture detox program at Fairbanks Hospital, which continues today. Shane was Indiana’s first certified NADA trainer, and was responsible for training NADA professionals at many Indiana Hospitals. Shane served as a NADA consultant for the Acupuncture Task Force of the Medical Licensing Board, and was responsible for both the NADA verbiage in the Indiana Practice Act, and the rules and regulations that accompany the law.
Shane has served in a local legislative capacity and assisted in the reversal of the physician referral mandate in 2008, which resulted in a positive outcome. He continues to serve in a support capacity to advocate and promote the advancement of Oriental Medicine within state and local government.
Shane has participated as co-investigator in both animal and human studies acupuncture research projects at Indiana University School of Medicine. Past Faculty Member of The Indiana Therapeutic Massage School of Division of IUPUI, where he enjoyed teaching and lecturing extensively on the subject of Oriental Medicine.
