I became interested in Massage Therapy when I was very young. I had been diagnosed with Scoliosis and it was the only thing that helped to relieve any of my back pain. I decided then that I wanted to be able to help people get out of pain in any way that I could. That lead me to begin questioning my therapist at the time about where she went to school and if she thought that I could do massage with how my back was. She encouraged me to go for it and even recommended a few schools. Once I graduated High School I chose to go to Ivy Tech for general studies due to a full scholarship for a year. I got a head start on Anatomy and Physiology and also became and EMT-B. During my time there I started researching massage schools even more. I finally settled on Alexandria School of Scientific Therapeutics in Alexandria, IN because it was a 10 month course, extremely hands on starting day 1, and the instructor, Ruthanne Hobbs taught in a manner that was easiest for me to learn the material. While there I decided to not only learn swedish massage but also, Baby's First Massage, and Pfrimmer Deep Muscle Therapy. I have interest in continuing my education by learning more about Craniosacral, Reiki, Aromatherapy, and Activated Release Technique.
