I graduated from Texas School of Massage in 2013 and have worked with a broad range of people and pain conditions. What's so fascinating about massage therapy is that it heals from the inside out as well as the outside in. Not only is it therapeutic for the body, it's soothing to the mind.

I first learned to practice yoga while living in Bombay, India. We transferred there for a two year period and I was having a terrible time with culture shock and needed to relax my mind and body. I worked with local yogis and yoginis and fell in love with it. I earned my teaching certificate in 2003 when we returned to the states and have taught hundreds of classes. To me, yoga is as close to receiving a massage as you can get without the massage therapist :)
I favor Myofascial release and traditional Swedish massage techniques. It's a nice blend of effleurage and petrissage strokes that gently softens muscles and relaxes the nervous system. I am also trained in trigger point therapy, prenatal, hot stone and sports massage and have a strong working knowledge of kinesiology and anatomy. I am certified in advanced techniques for the hip and post-race sports massage. I have years of experience as a runner, swimmer and cyclist which gives me a deeper insight into the mind-set of an athlete, their training patterns and the typical injuries they encounter. I am continuously educating myself in more advanced therapies to better serve my clients.
I earned my Reiki level 1 in 2006. Reiki is a way of channeling healing energy to another person. It's an additional way to connect to a client on multiple levels to enhance their experience and relax the nervous system.
