For as long as I can remember I’ve had a strong passion for helping and serving others. I was born and raised here in Holland and started exploring the healthcare field at the ripe age of 16 years old. At the careerline tech center. After that exposure I dove right into the field. There was no doubt in my mind that my purpose in life was to aid in the healing of others. After high school I worked at an adult foster care facility, Heritage Homes in Holland for 2 years, then I wanted to advance my career and get more into medical care. So I became a certified nursing assistant and worked for Resthaven Care Center. After another 2 years I moved closer to the Kalamazoo area to accept a position with Bronson Methodist hospital. While employed with Bronson I worked in the medical intensive care unit, cardiology and emergency departments while completing my prerequisites for nursing. However after taking on a more natural approach in my own life, I wanted to look into a more alternative and holistic approach to being a healthcare professional. That’s when I found massage therapy. After extensive research into the career, I enrolled myself at Blue Heron Academy in 2020. I finished school in 2021, and spent the next 2 years being mentored by a massage therapist of 20 years and previous educator for my beloved school. Now in 2023, I have expanded to being completely on my own in massage, and soon to take on student teaching at my former beloved school, Blue Heron Academy, as well as taking the 1200 hour manual massage therapy program to expand my expertise and continue to service my clients by going more in depth with improving joint mobilization and pain relief with manipulation of soft tissues. In my free time I enjoy spending quality time with my two sons, practicing yoga, meditating, cooking, hiking, going to the beach and reading. I am very eager to serve and aid in the healing of my community. I am thankful and feel very blessed that I am able to fulfill my purpose in life while delivering quality care.
