Kathy graduated from Somerset School of Massage Therapy (SSMT). Shortly after graduation, she returned to the school as a teaching assistant and later lead instructor.
She is trained in numerous massage modalities, including: Swedish, Myofascial Therapy, Neuromuscular Therapy, Sports Massage, Warm Bamboo Massage and specializes in Prenatal and Postpartum massage. She is certified to teach “Baby’s First Massage” instruction to families. Kathy has numerous childbirth education classes and previously worked as a birth doula.
Kathy has been an active volunteer of the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA) in various roles ranging from Chairperson to Board member. She has also volunteered her time at the Center for Great Expectations, providing massage to teen mothers.
Her hobbies include weight lifting, rock wall climbing and endurance running. Her first marathon was Boston 2013 (running for the Massage Therapy Foundation). Due to the tragedy that year, she returned to cross that finish line April 21, 2014. She also ran the 2013 and 2015 Marine Corps Marathon, and Rocky 50K run in Philadelphia. If she can find the time, she would like to return to Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, which she previously practiced for a short time.
