I began studying and practicing massage therapy at the Minneapolis School of Massage & Bodywork Inc in 1988. Personally, I like to emphasize the "therapy" aspect of massage and many of my clients begin to work with me on recommendation from their physical therapists or chiropractors. My treatments can be the final step in the healing process or just the ticket to keep them healthy and injury free. I enjoy working with baby boomers, like myself, who want to stay feeling young and active. I love working with dedicated athletes and weekend warriors alike to help them achieve their personal best. And I am experienced in working with illness, chronic health conditions or people recovering from cancer treatments. I believe massage therapy is good preventive health care as well as a rehabilitation tool from pain, illness and injury. When not working I enjoy going hiking through the woods with my husband, oil painting and being a source of love and encouragement to my three children who are becoming independent adults.

I finished my basic training as a massage therapist in 1989 at the Mpls School of Massage and Bodywork in Minnesota. Then after working at the local YMCA and with a chiropractor for a couple of years, I returned to the school and trained to become their Sports Massage teacher. I worked at MSMB for 4 years before moving to Michigan in 1995. I have been working in the Milford, Michigan area since 2001 and cofounded Essential Massage & Wellness Center in 2008, I am a lifelong learner and continue to seek out and hone new therapeutic skills every year.
I developed an interest in Thai Massage and took my first workshop in 2008. I find clients wishing to work with flexibility issues really love the energizing yet relaxing Thai massage techniques and I enjoy incorporating them into many of my therapeutic sessions.
My most recent addition to my therapy skills is IASTM and Cupping Therapy. I love using these tools to relieve long held restrictions and stiffness and relieve pain. Unlike nearly every massage technique which presses down onto the body the suctioning pull of the cups lifts and separates skin and tissues in a way massage cannot. And the IASTM tools allow me to get into finer details and affect great change quickly.
