Why I love massage therapy: “Helping people feel better has always made me happy. In 1989, I completed cosmetology school and received my diploma for hair and skin care and I began working at a very popular hair and nail salon in New Jersey as a hair shampooer. In this bustling salon, hair stylists would often be behind schedule. I would immediately relieve a waiting client’s frustration by bringing them back to the shampoo bowl and ease any stress with a nurturing scalp massage and conditioning treatment. My clients’ reactions would bring me great joy! Eventually, I began to get a lot of positive feedback from the salon. Ultimately, I came to realize my calling as a massage therapist by being the best shampooer I could be! I love being a massage therapist because the benefits of massage are endless. Massage therapy helps people to relax, decreases pain, improves circulation, enhances immunity, and calms the soul.”
