"One today is worth two tomorrows."

My approach to each massage session is to consider all of the formal training in exercise science and massage therapy, the practical knowledge, and the experience I've gathered in my 30 years as a massage therapist, and work with my client to create a treatment plan that is focused on how muscle tension is presented, identify what areas of the body are effected (or compromising - to allow function to carry on), and how best to go about decreasing pain and restoring movement.

I use combinations of Swedish massage, facial stretching, sports massage, trigger point release techniques, and stretching.  I also try to encourage changes in habits that may be contributing factors to an issue, and sometimes suggest exercises or stretches that may bring some relief or help extend the benefits of the massage.  Many people ask what kind of massage I do, and that is getting harder to answer, as I use all of my "tools" as needed during a session.

Also, I am a certified Pre- & Peri-natal massge therapist with 32 hours of training, 20 years of experience, and have recently become an authorized teacher of the course I took to become certified.  I can effectively address many of the special muscular challenges that present themselves during pregnancy, meanwhile relieving some of the mental stresses.

Along with the treating clients with massage, I am a Certified Educator of Infant Massage (C.E.I.M) allowing me to teach parents and caregivers how to massage their babies.  The full instruction usually occurs in 4 sessions lasting about 45 minutes each.  If you know someone who is expecting a baby, a gift certificate to learn this wonderful bonding massage is a great gift.

Hospice massage is a relatively new endeavor for me.  Please contact me directly if you'd like more information about private hospice massage.  (978) 400-1504.
