I was about five years old when I gave my first massage. My "daddy" used to lie on the couch and watch the evening news after dinner. I would stand at his head and give him a scalp massage. He would inevitably doze off which always ended up with me "fixing his hair". My little red purse was always loaded with pink sponge curlers, bobby pins and various barrettes. I wish I had a photo of the end results, it is one of my earliest and fondest memories of my father.

I so enjoyed serving for three years as a volunteer on the American Massage Therapy Association Executive Board, Washington State Chapter, as 3rd Vice-President, Education Chair and Convention Coordinator. It was a rewarding and educational experience. I attended the National Convention of the American Massage Therapy Association for advanced training in the field of massage therapy, held in Chicago, Illinois. I also had the privilege of attending the National Education Conference of the American Massage Therapy Association for advanced training in the field of massage therapy, held in Maui, Hawaii. Along with meeting many wonderful, skilled and talented bodyworkers, I furthered my training in the following: * Beyond Pain: Shoulder, Elbow and Wrist techniques * The Muscular & Structural Relationship of TMJ Pain * Advanced Techniques for the Trunk and Lower Extremities * Fascial Kinetics for Thoracic and Cervical. Independent of the AMTA I took an advanced course with Harborview Medical Center Departments of Occupational & Physical Therapy and University of Washington Department of Orthopedics: * Management of Flexor & Extensor Tendon Injuries. **Recently I completed: *Chronic Pain Syndromes: Current Concepts and Treatment Strategies
