Master's in Social Work
Sociology
I received my LCSW after working for Queen's Medical Center in the adult mental health treatment programs as well as with the DOE by providing behavioral health therapy to children and families. I currently work for Child and Family Service to support Hawaii's Child Welfare Services by consulting on severe harm/child abuse cases. I love rooting for the underdog and finding ways to break the cycle of violence and paving new ways for health and happiness.
I participated in a 500-hour course dedicated towards understanding nutrition and digestion from an Ayurvedic perspective. Just like all of our bodies are different shapes and sizes, our nutritional needs vary, too. Our constitutions (Vata, Pitta, Kapha) are ever changing. We have the power to nurture ourselves through food and lifestyle to gain energy, peace, and compassion.
I've been active my whole life, though ballet as a child, and competitive swimming through college. I found yoga to embrace my athletic spirit, as well as open a new world of spirituality and mindfulness. I participated in a 200-hr hot yoga teacher training in Thailand in 2009 and taught for many years to the general public and at schools. I enjoy taking the time to breathe at the beach and practice gentle yoga at home.
