Maya was born and raised in Haiku, Maui, where she spent most of her time outside. Maya grew up surfing, swimming, chasing waterfalls, and playing all kinds of sports. Her main sport was track and field, where she learned the importance of teamwork, good sportsmanship, and most importantly, how to take care of the body. Maya got most of her physical healing and therapy from her mother, who is a Physical Therapist on Maui. During the course of her schooling at the Maui Academy of Healing Arts in Kihei, Maya was able to translate the touch she had received all her life, into her practice. Maya is now specialized in the styles of Lomi Lomi, Swedish, Thai and Deep Tissue Massage, as well as the use of hot stones. Maya is also trained in Ashiatsu Barefoot Massage, and has formed her own recipe that includes all of these styles. Maya is a big advocate for self care and body love.
