Mary Ellen Moses

As a bee seeks nectar from all types of flowers, seek teachings everywhere. Like a deer that finds a quiet place to graze, seek seclusion to digest all that you have gathered. Like a mad one beyond all limits, go where you please and live like a lion; completely free of all fear." Dzogchen Tantra

Mary became a Certified Swedish Massage Therapist in 1996. Since then she has continued her education with workshops in Reiki I and II, Kinesiology, Shiatsu, Deep Tissue, Polarity, Raindrop Therapy and Ayurvedic treatments such as Shirodhara and Dosha Balancing massage. She also received training in Basic and Advanced Pranic Healing as well as Pranic Psychotherapy with Cynthia deLeon. She believes that Pranic Healing is a powerful healing tool that has transformed her life and is very excited to provide this service to the community. In September of 2017, Mary completed her certification for Manual Lymph Drainage and is now in the Master Level training. Visit www.mldinstitute.com for more information on this amazing technique for enhancing the function of the immune system.

Mary lives locally and enjoys cooking (and eating!), reading, drumming, being outdoors, traveling and living fully in the moment.

Mary became a student of yoga in 1993 and after experiencing the profound effects of her practice, decided to become an instructor. She earned her 200 Hour Certification with Raji Thron of Yoga Synthesis in 2000. Mary is a Registered Yoga Alliance instructor and has continued her education with workshops by Yoganand, Doug Keller, and Max Strom. She was trained to teach Restorative Yoga by Sudha Lundeen 2005 and completed a Trance Dance training with Shiva Rea in 2008. She is currently completing a 300 hour Yoga Certification with Yoga Light School. This Training will give Mary the tools to work with people individually, designing practices to assist in healing all aspects of the person. She believes her role as an instructor is to provide a safe and nurturing environment in which students can learn the principles and practice of yoga and in turn discover their own true nature; creating balance of body, mind and spirit. She encourages students to be playful and compassionate in their practice.

Mary is available for therapeutic yoga sessions, massage and Energy Balancing Sessions by appointment. Please call (973)670-7421 to schedule.

It was wonderful! Mary takes the time to hear what is happening in your life and what you are looking for from massage. She then takes the time to explain your options, often combining different techniques. Then, the best part- the magic of her hands! The physical environment is also conducive to relaxation.

Mary is very professional yet warm, inviting, welcoming and friendly. She is immediately disarming and eases any hesitation one may feel by her gentle, calm, compassionate approach. Mary listens well to one’s description of ailments, and applies training and experience with a deft hand. She is a master of multiple types of massage techniques so if you need a firmer or softer touch, a ‘sports’ or ‘Swedish’ massage or LDM just ask as she’s more than capable of providing you with the best massage at your request. Just don’t be surprised if you nod off for a bit! And if you have trouble sleeping at night, you won’t the night following a massage or LMD treatment with Mary. Today there’s many choices of places to get a massage but I will ONLY be going to Mary at Awakening Point Yoga & Massage!
