Hi! I’m Danielle Carter, the owner of Grove City Massage Therapy located inside of Crossfit 43123.
I graduated from The American Institute of Alternative Medicine in 2009 and have been running my practice since 2010. I am licensed by the Ohio State Medical Board (33.018301).
I became interested in massage therapy after recovering from a traumatic brain injury in 2002. After months of doctors and therapy, I had to find a new way to live. Massage was life changing for me. My body learned again what it was capable of doing in its own time, not being rushed, or over medicating.
I specialize in Neuromuscular Therapy. In a very specific way, Neuromuscular Therapy addresses areas of contracted muscle tissue most people think of as “knots.” A trigger point is an area of muscle that is very sensitive to touch and can give a sensation of referred pain (pain that may be some distance from the source of irritation). Trigger points can arise from chronic tension, as well as acute injury. By using firm, pressure, I seek to break up the trigger points, and by doing so eliminate the cycle of spasm and pain.
