Structural Integration and Movement Education (privates and classes)

Karin is originally from Germany where she obtained her MSc (University of Tuebingen, 1997) in Fitness, Health & Wellness Management which she applied in corporate programs, fitness and health classes.

She has lived in US for the past 16 years where she pursued training and teaching Yoga, Movement Education and Pain Management Workshops as well as corporate programs.

Recently she earned a Rolf Structural Integration diploma from the Guild of Structural Integration (GSI) in Boulder, and certification as Hand and Foot Instructor of the MELT-Method, a brand new, effective Hands-Off Bodywork Self Treatment technique.

Karin’s work is based on her life-long engagement in playing music, competitive sports and a great variety of outdoor activities, which all developed her sensibility to physical damage created by repetitive movement patterns over time.

Drawing on her background in preventative Health & Wellness Education Karin identifies causes of work-related dysfunctions and injuries and effectively develops strategies to help you meet the demands of your professional life.

During her 16 years of experience in teaching skiing in Winter Park and practicing outdoor emergency care as a ski patroller in Jackson Hole, her main interest was to help people to be safe in the first place, learn efficiently, improve their performance and recover quickly, if injured. The sometimes long and frustrating process of recovery is not unknown to her, after a work-related injury took several surgeries and years of rehabilitation to finally regain most of her function. The insights Karin gained from this experience lead her to get certified in Structural Integration and to start her own business providing individualized treatment and long lasting results.

Following these premises she utilizes Structural Integration and Movement Education techniques based on the latest fascia (connective tissue) research to get and keep you out of acute or chronic pain and improve your personal performance. If you are new to this bodywork, Karin suggests the ‘10-Series’ of Rolf Structural Integration to reestablish ease and efficiency in your body.

After relocating her practice from Jackson Hole in May 2014, she occupies an office in the Medical Arts Center in Grand Junction where she also teaches classes in “Foundation of Movement Flow” for Movement Therapies LLC. She is excited to help create programs to meet your individual needs and goals, and help you pursue a healthy, pain-free and fulfilled life.

Karin obtained certification as a MELT Method Hand&Foot; Instructor in 2014 and has successfully brought this effective self-care treatment to Grand Junction in workshops, classes and with private clients. The MELT Method uniquely addresses the root cause of the many symptoms of suck stress in the body by re-hydrating connective tissue and rebalancing the nervous system. The result is the elimination of pain, inflammation, sleep and digestive problems as well as premature signs of aging. Karin will complete the next Level of MELT certification in July 2015.
