I discovered massage therapy later in life. I’d never even had a professional massage until I was in my late 30’s. I discovered massage therapy later in life. I’d never even had a professional massage until I was in my late 30’s. Even then, I didn’t consider it as a career choice - I was too busy working in the financial industry. Then someone introduced me to Reiki, which still isn’t massage, but is such a quiet, powerful way of healing that I wanted to start sharing it with the world. I lived in Florida at the time, where a license to touch is required if you want to practice Reiki as a business. To get a license to touch, I could go to nursing school or massage school. Since I’m not fond of blood, my choice was clear. From the first day of Anatomy and Physiology I knew I’d found a new path and I was eager to follow it through. Along with Reiki, I learned massage styles including Swedish, deep tissue, hot stone, and Thai. I graduated in 2010 and completed my Reiki Master training in 2011. After graduating I added certification in Nurturing the Mother (Prenatal and Postpartum); Bamboo Fusion; Lymphatic Detox; and Integrative Reflexology. Since embarking on this new path, I feel I have changed and grown in ways I never imagined. I look forward to meeting each new client and love seeing my return clients as they begin to relax, breathe, and heal.
