Barb is lifelong seeker of
fitness and natural wellness. She finds joy in helping people relieve muscle
tension, improve mobility, and achieve an overall feeling of well-being and
“able-bodied-ness”. She is a certified Thai Bodywork Practitioner, trained at
the Coaching The Body Institute in Evanston, IL, where she learned to integrate
modern Trigger Point Therapy into a traditional Thai assisted yoga session.
Barb is also trained in Neural Reset Therapy (NRT), a non-massage muscle energy
technique that can quickly relieve tight muscles and improve range of movement.
Having received a variety of physical healing modalities for muscle and joint
pain, she experienced the most benefit from Thai bodywork, and felt inspired to
pass on this gift of healing as a tribute to her late mother, who suffered
undiagnosed pain for many years.
Barb
was an engineer in a past life, and easily blends a practical, mechanical
systems approach with the gentle work of subtle energy and human compassion. A
firm believer in the “motion is lotion” mantra, Barb strives to live a
full, active life and help others do the same.
In
her free time, Barb enjoys BMX racing, vegetable gardening, choral singing,
playing percussion, and spending time with her family and pets.
