Life is better with massage!

When I was 21 years old I was in a head-on collision with a drunk driver and it changed my life.  I was fortunate in that, while my injuries caused me to change my life-style, they still allowed me the use of all my limbs and faculties.  What really had an impact on me was the realization that I could have died in the accident, and I began to  consider the direction my life was going.

I was in college, going through the motions of classes, studying and testing, with little insight on what I wanted to do with my life.  I realized that life could be short and I wanted to make the most of my time on earth doing things that really mattered to me.  Once I started thinking in this manner, I was guided along what now seems like stepping stones to my career in massage therapy.

I took a quarter off from school to travel.  The Transpersonal Psychology class I took when I returned to college sparked my curiosity in the mind-body connection.  I was planning to get my masters in Counseling Psychology, but I decided to go to massage school first so that I could "learn" about the mind-body connection.

When I toured The Florida School of Massage with the director, unbeknownst to him, he talked about my favorite college professor -- the man who taught my Transpersonal Psychology class!  I felt as if I had roots growing out from beneath me and into the ground, and I choose FSM for schooling.

I fell in love with massage therapy!  My years as a competitive athletic deepened my understanding of the body, and the physicality of the work came easily to me.  Plus receiving massage eased physical discomfort I had been carrying around for years and helped heal the car accident injuries that my doctors were unable to do anything for.  There was so much to learn and so much that interested me that I decided to stick with Massage as a profession.

I am married to a Chiropractor and our lives are dedicated to helping people heal and improve their lives.  I started my career in 1993 and have been providing Therapeutic Massage and Deep Relaxation Bodywork for over 20 years.  I love to help people get out of pain and find greater ease in their bodies.  Come see how your life is better with massage!

Yesterday I had the first massage treatment from Mary. It was very very good. I felt I was in a space with a person of healing hands. I felt her intentions was fully focused on excellence in a caring and loving mood. I felt she did her outmost to try to find what will work the best for me and the physical problems I have. I have scheduled and appointment for next week again.

She was so thorough with my evaluation and what I needed since I am dealing with some spinal issues. She was so aware of my body and what it needed and didn't need. Very respectful in every aspect of the word. I absolutely recommend her.

I like the connection Mary has with her client. She asks questions about what is helpful and what is not. She is always seeking better ways to tailor her skills to suit the client's needs. She knows her muscles and bones and what works where. She wants to know the effect of her interventions and what has improved or not improved in the interim between appointments. she
