Hello! My name is Veta Baker. I am a graduate of The Giving Touch Massage School in Grand Junction, Colorado. I have a certification in medical massage. I specialize in therapeutic massage using many different techniques including Swedish and deep tissue while incorporating sprinkles of light stretching and myofascial release. I am also trained in foot reflexology and Ayurvedic Nepali massage. Having been plagued with a chronic pain condition, I understand the pain cycle and the struggle to find a good balance between, stress levels, diet, sleep and exercise. Also having worked in the medical field for many years, I know the frustration of working with Western medicine while dealing with chronic pain from both the patient and healthcare sides. I spent many years treating my symptoms with medications. It wasn’t until this past decade that I found a self care routine that has changed my relationship with my chronic pain. Regular massage was the turning point for me. Massage offers so many benefits for physical, mental, emotional and spiritual wellbeing. Reduced muscle tension, improved circulation, reduced stress hormones, reduced anxiety and depression, and improved mental alertness are just a few of the many benefits of regular massage. I became a massage therapist because I have personally felt these effects and wanted to share them with others. I worked as a medical office assistant for 16 years with different doctors and midwives before owning and operating a successful small business for another 16 years with my husband. After selling our business in February of 2020, I decided I wanted to get back to working with people by sharing the healing touch of massage therapy. I completed massage therapy training and became licensed in 2021. When I’m not giving massages, I enjoy hiking, camping, gardening and hanging out with my family. I am a professional member of and insured with the ABMP (Associated Bodywork and Massage Professionals), as well as a member of AMTA (American Massage Therapy Association), and am licensed with the State of Colorado
