Neuromuscular

Neuromuscular therapy is a massage modality that consist of alternating levels of concentrated pressure on a specific area associated with muscle spasms or muscle strains. Pain caused by ischemia muscle tissue (meaning the area lacks proper blood flow, and restricts the flow of metabolic waste in out of the muscle) will feel very sore and tender to the touch because the muscle isn't receiving enough oxygen or nutrients. Most people describe this level of pressure as "good" pain.

Trigger Point Therapy

Certified in TPT for treatment of the head, and neck pain associated with headaches, migraines, whiplash, and herniated disc. I also carry certifications for shoulder issues related to rotator cuff injuries, frozen shoulder, and disfunction, as well as lower back and hip pain from injuries, herinated disc, sciatica, and nerve pain.

Medical

Medical massage is a prescribed modality intended to help resolve issues diagnosed by a physician. This uses a variety of treatments that focus on area related to diagnoses. Usually 15-30 minutes in length depending upon prescription, and generally covered by insurance. Medical massage can be a effective treatment for soft tissue issues as well as psychological disorders. Intended to improve general health of an individual.

Cupping Methods

Cupping therapy uses a vacuum of negative pressure/decompressing affect that draws out toxins and metabolic waste from the soft tissue structure of the body to help improve blood circulation, immune function, and movement. This specific type of massage can also be used with active or passive muscle stretches to increase mobility of an area.

As a healthcare professional, I hold practitioners to a high clinical standard and L.a. Clark far exceeds it. She systematically identified and resolved musculoskeletal dysfunctions I managed unsuccessfully for years. Her assessment evaluates biomechanical imbalances, fascial restrictions, and neuromuscular compensation patterns with precision rivaling any orthopedic evaluation. What distinguishes L.a. is integrating multiple modalities into a cohesive, individualized plan. She traces dysfunction to its origin, correcting postural deviations, myofascial adhesions, and joint mobility deficits contributing to chronic pain and restricted ROM. In just a few sessions I had measurable improvements in flexibility, pain reduction, and functional movement. Her clinical reasoning is exceptional - she communicates findings clearly, educates on underlying pathology, and sets realistic recovery expectations. All hallmarks of a true movement specialist. I cannot recommend The Movement Therapist Fort Myers highly enough. Gold standard of care in SWFL.
