Originally from Portland, Oregon, I moved to Fort Collins in 1995. When I'm not in the studio, I'm often knitting, reading, hiking, cross-country skiing, happily playing bad guitar, working in my mountain garden, or spending time with my (mostly) grown kids.
Having benefited greatly from massage myself, I entered the field in 2005 with a certification in Massage with the goal of helping others improve the way their bodies function. I've since helped people successfully recover from auto accidents, frozen shoulder, rotator cuff injuries, shoulder, knee, hip, and foot surgeries, and overcome anxiety and other stress-related issues.
In 2008 I received certification as a Yoga teacher with a therapeutic Viniyoga focus, which changed my work to include more movement. In 2016 I completed a Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) course, which brought more presence to my practice and enabled me to lead Mindfulness trainings. In 2020 I became certified in Ayurveda and also began study with local PT Gil Wette, both of which have further shifted my work.
My bodywork sessions have moved to a lighter touch over the last few years. They typically include a combination of nervous system balancing, light myofascial release, craniosacral therapy, and integrative bodywork with a little neuromuscular work thrown in on occasion.
During my Ayurvedic consults, we work together to find your native constitution, determine where you're out of balance, and identify choices that will both help bring you back to balance and support your ongoing physical, emotional, and mental health.
