As a high school athlete, I suffered from a labral tear and tendon issues in my left shoulder, leaving my range of motion in a less-than useable state. I had issues completing the simplest of tasks if forced to raise my arm above my head, after speaking with family, I was referred to a massage therapist and after my first few sessions I could feel my range of motion increasing. This was a huge wakeup call for me in terms of self-care outside of an appointment with a doctor, or physical therapist. Within a few months of my first massage, I enrolled myself in classes at the University of North Alabama, and started working towards my license!
Since getting my license for massage therapy in 2017, this career has evolved into a passion to help others overcome the issues they're facing in their every day lives. I've spent the last few years learning a variety of modalities to approach each issue differently. Whether we incorporate sports massage, neuromuscular therapy, or fire cupping into the session, learning what's causing your issues and helping you to understand them is my number one goal as a therapist!
