Optimal Recovery For Optimal Performance

My interest in massage therapy has always stemmed from my desire to pursue an active lifestyle and to be proficient in everyday activities. We all know what happens when we push too hard for too long or when we sustain injury both physical or emotional, it takes a tole on our bodies and diminishes our ability to perform the activities we are passionate about and the everyday chores we must do. When stress takes it's toll on the body we can loose the desire to be active and to take care of our obligations. Massage therapy is a simple solution to restore the body after bouts of intense stress or injury allowing you to return to your personal hobbies or profession performing at your best.

Before I became a massage therapist I was a full time employee and student, I also had side hobbies in weight lifting, running, biking, and breakdancing. I can remember days when I was so sore and tired I could barely move. I knew that my level of activity was not sustainable unless I could incorporate some way to speed my recovery. When I heard of a friend who was attending school for massage therapy I was very interested and subsequently had the benefit of experiencing my first massage as a demo body while shadowing my friend in his program. The results spoke for themselves, and I soon after I enrolled in the same program to become a massage therapist. That was in 2005 and I can honestly say that my knowledge and experience of the body through massage therapy has changed my life and offered me the ability to continue performing at my best through a very busy and physically active schedule.

As a practitioner I have worked in many settings and with many types of clients. I have worked in resorts, spa's, clinics, private practice, and at public events. I have also worked with people from all walks of life, from the office professional to the athletic professional, and with people who have chronic illnesses, chronic pain, injuries, and debilitating amputations. I am confident that massage therapy was able to help all of these people in a significant way and I believe that massage therapy can help you in a significant way as well.
