Mary graduated from The University of Findlay in 2001 with bachelor degrees in biology, pre-medicine, and psychology. After graduating from the Blanchard Valley Academy of Massage Therapy in 2002, she was licensed to practice Swedish massage, certified in Muscle Release Technique, and trained in both pregnancy and sports massage. For Mary, massage is one aspect of a life devoted to serving others. Initially, Mary practiced massage therapy independently, working closely with a renowned chiropractor who focused on accidental injury rehabilitation. This work exposed Mary to a wide range of massage techniques from the treatment of repetitive motion disorders, to the treatment of sports injuries in athletes. To make each visit beneficial to clients, she employs a variety of stretches, deep tissue manipulation, trigger point release, friction, and kneading in each massage. Mary specializes in deep tissue massage to achieve both healing and relaxation. Mary’s practice springs from her core beliefs in holistic living. For her, massage is a component of a healthy lifestyle, which includes regular physical exercise, a lifelong love of learning, a nutritious diet emphasizing both health and appearance, an openness to others in community and, of course, the healing and restorative power of touch.
