I became found my interest in massage as I was attending college, trying to find my way in the world. I was searching for a career path and stumbled upon massage therapy as I was taking a Hatha Yoga class. It opened my education to the wonderful world of anatomy and this is where my journey began.
I attended the Baltimore School of Massage to receive my certificate in Massage Therapy, trained in Swedish, Deep Tissue and Myofascial Release. I specialize in Myofascial Release Therapies and I have also been trained in MFR- Myofascial Release I, II and Unwinding with John Barnes, and in Advanced Myofascial Release Techniques with Til Luchau.
Myofascial Release is a type of therapeutic bodywork that helps create change by releasing stuck tissue that my be interfering with normal muscle function and giving you lasting results. It cannot compare to massage alone or other modalities alone. When MFR is applied it opens up your whole body to receive nutrition it has been starved of, flushing out old toxicity and allowing the structures below to move freely about the myofascial matrix.
I am currently a student of Naturopathy with Trinity School of Natural Health and will be certified by the end of 2017.
Other certificates include Aromatherapy and Chakra Energy Balancing.
