I've been a LMT since 2005. 2005-2009 in NC & TN. 2006-current in WV. I've owned my own practice, Oceans Massage Therapy in WV since 2006. I've also worked for a few spas including: Shoji Japanese Day Spa, Asheville NC 2005-2007; Result Spa, Hendersonville NC 2006; Spa Vantage Snowshoe, WV 2006-2007; Bodylodgic Snowshoe, WV 2007-2008; Tuscan Sun Spa Snowshoe, WV 2008-2009; Healing Springs Medical Spa Beckley, WV 2009-2015. 2015-2019, I maintained a massage studio at Soaring Eagle Lodge, Snowshoe WV seasonally, while also continuing to serve Fayette Co. WV at my River Expeditions, Oak Hill WV location. I studied massage, acupressure, Traditional Chinese Medicine, Medical Qi Gong and energy work 1998-2004 with Genie Hardee at the Asheville School of the Healing Arts in Asheville NC. I have spent time studying herbal medicine with Corey-Pine Shane at the Blue Ridge School of Herbal Medicine in Asheville NC 1998-2004. In 2004, I attended and graduated from The Center for Massage and Natural Health, Asheville NC to obtain my massage therapy degree. I enjoy my ongoing annual-biannual, continuing education courses in regards to furthering my knowledge and maintaining my massage therapy licensure. I have a huge passion for natural healing, health and wellness. I also maintain my OEC education; although I have retired my NSP status to alumni. I opened Oceans Massage Therapy via Oceans-Works Massage Therapy in WV in 2006 providing massage therapy services after rafting trips at Appalachian Wildwater. In 2008, rafting companies merged and I opened a massage studio at River Expeditions, where the business slowly grew for 15 years, eventually adding part time therapists to help better meet our clientele's needs. In December 2023, Karen Nish-Bell and I relocated the business to 211 W Maple Ave., Downtown Fayetteville WV where we love working together as full time therapists offering 7 day/week availability most weeks of the year.
