I became interested in Massage Therapy as a career after attending St. Cloud State University for a short while as a psychology major. I decided that psychology wasn't exactly my calling, but knew that my ultimate goal was to help improve the quality of life for people suffering. After a short while of looking into professional massage schools, I applied for the diploma program at the Minnesota School of Business in Waite Park, MN. I graduated with honors and moved home to Crookston, MN. I knew that I wanted to live in a bigger city again and when the opportunity came, I moved to Fargo, ND.

When I tried to get a job as a massage therapist at a salon in Fargo, I realized I did not have enough class hours for the ND Massage License. So, I decided to go back to school (third time is a charm they say) at the Minnesota School of Business in Moorhead, MN. I completed my Associate's in Applied Science in 2009, and began working at Nokken Chiropractic Clinic in early 2010. Working at Nokken helped me develop my skills to meet the needs of many different clients. I have given a range of "heavenly" relaxation massages to deeply therapeutic massage for clients in chronic and acute pain.

On December 1st, 2015, I opened Relief Therapeutic Massage in the heart of downtown Fargo, ND at the historic Black Building. In October 2016, I moved the business to the Manchester Building. In November, 2019, I relocated once more to the Block One building (hopefully the last move)! Over the last decade, I have worked with many amazing clients that have shown me how to better serve their needs and have become a compassionate and caring therapist. My goal is to help relieve the stress, anxiety, pain, and fatigue of people in the Fargo-Moorhead area with the skills I have been developing. My training is in modalities such as Swedish, Hot Stone, Deep Tissue, Myofascial Release, Trigger Point Therapy, Aromatherapy, Prenatal, Infant, and Geriatric massage. In January 2019 I began learning Reiki and am now a Holy Fire II Usui Reiki II practitioner. I am always expanding my knowledge of new modalities and techniques through continuing education and reading massage publications.

In each session you can expect that I will ask you how your body is feeling, what makes it feel better or worse, and what types of daily activities you do that contribute to the issues you experience. The key is getting to know what your body is trying to tell you and how to raise your awareness to become a version of yourself that feels great on the inside and out. Pressure in the massage is always adjusted according to what your expectations are and what your pain tolerance is. Deep tissue is not the same for every client that walks in the door. Every BODY is unique and requires attention specific to your needs. There are no "dumb" questions when it comes to concerns or issues you would like to discuss. Open communication makes your experience the best and is highly encouraged. That's not to say that you should expect to lay on the table and spill the beans about every detail of your life, however. The point is to relax of course! Needless to say, I look forward to helping my clients live a pain-free lifestyle.
