"To keep the body in good health is a duty. Otherwise we shall not be able to keep our mind strong and clear." -Buddha

I became a massage therapist to help those around me. My whole life I had always wanted to make people feel well again, but I didn't have the financial support to become a doctor (like I had originally intended) so it was really hard. One day, I was listening to Pandora and heard an ad for Cortiva Institute of Massage Therapy. It got me curious because, at the time, I didn't fully understand massages. I actually never had received one until I enrolled. I made an appointment to check the place out and was completely blown away by how in-depth it gets! Business and Ethics classes, Anatomy and Physiology classes, Kinesiology classes, etc. It was wonderful to me that a massage therapist could provide the wellness that a lot of people need. That was the deciding moment for me. I immediately enrolled that day and haven't regretted that decision once.

I attended Cortiva Institute of Massage Therapy in Hoboken, NJ in Oct. 2014 and currently have my license in NJ only. I'm certified in Swedish, Deep Tissue, Sports, Myofascial, and Prenatal. I hope to get more certifications for Thai, Shiatzu, and Lomi Lomi (to name a few). Most of the clients I see always have a back and/or neck problem and I try to address them as efficiently as possible, even suggesting certain stretches that could help during the times they're not seeing me. I've always had a soft spot for Swedish so I tend to use that as my base for any massage, making it lighter or deeper depending on the person and their needs. Usually for deeper, I use my forearms and elbows respectively. I also like to incorporate Aromatherapy, usually with a cool eye pillow that's filled with flaxseed and has lavender and chamomile scent for calming the senses. I do ask beforehand if the client has any allergies or sensitivities just in case.

I'm currently available in the North Jersey area, specifically Bergen County. I do work at a massage studio in Montclair, but I also have my own side practice for In-Home massage. So I would be traveling to you, at your convenience!

When I'm not working, I'm usually relaxing with my boyfriend and our dog, or with family/friends. I try to spend a least a good portion of my days off being productive in some way; be it reading, writing, or even working on marketing my business.
