I have been a massage therapist since November, 2008. I've seen many people for a wide variety of issues. Many have chronic illness, muscle pain, injuries, limited range of motion, sore from working out or doing yardwork, or for other issues. Many come in who just want to relax with a Swedish or aromatherapy massage while others may prefer a more therapeutic massage.

I use a variety of techniques to loosen tight muscles, release adhesive tissue and unwind tight fascia. I have had training in Swedish, Deep Tissue, Medical Massage, Massage Cupping, Myofascial, Cranial Sacral, Neuromuscular Therapy, Active/Passive Stretching, Muscle Energy Techniques, Trigger Point Therapy, Quantum Energy work and Microcurrent. Give me a call or connect online today through my web page and lets get you feeling better soon.

Western Focus Massage - Initial Certification
In 2017, I attended an introductory course in Myofascial Release to refocus my attention on this teqhnique. This technique has been taught in most of the other classes taken in the past but by taking it directly, I was able to focus and practice this method to really get a good feel for how this can help my current clients/patients with chronic muscle issues. This is a very powerful technique that allows the release of the fascia that surrounds all muscle, ligaments, tendons, and organs. The fascia is what holds us all together, it is connective tissue. When muscles are tight, you can relax them. But, if the fascia is also tight, the muscles may not be able to stay in the relaxed state and will go back to the previous tight pattern.
Began this practice in November 2008 in Salem, Oregon after graduating from Oregon School of Massage. Specializing in Swedish Massage and Trigger Point Massage.
Attended courses in 2010 to learn and incorporate Contemporary Cupping and Eastern Cupping Therapy to my massage practice. This is an ancient healing art that is now making its way back into the alternative health. Cupping is also known as negative pressure massage and increases circulation to the muscle tissue, allowing for the tissue to release and become more pliable and less painful.
Attended a course called Secrets of Deep Tissue in Portland, Oregon in 2011 This increased my work on specific injuries and physical issues. This course definitely added to my massage tool kit and I use these techniques daily.
In 2013, attended three training classes for Neuromuscular Therapy (NMT) to increase my ability to work on deep muscle issues for those that need this type of work. The classes taken was Neuromuscluar Therapy Intro, NMT - Hip, Thigh and Knee, and NMT - Leg, Ankle, Foot. These are extremely deep techniques, and definitely not a feel good massage.
In 2015, I signed up to take 40 hours of training classes for Medical Massage in Portland, Oregon. The courses encompassed the following: Neuromuscular Evaluation and Treatment of the Lower Body, Neuromuscular Evaluation and Treatment of the Upper Extremity, Neuromuscular Evaluation and Treatment of the Back, Neuromuscular Evaluation and Treatment of the Neck, Postural Distortion and Pain and Insurance Billing and Reimbursement. This course absolutely changed my massage practice. I have always done medical based massage but this course integrated many teqhniques used by Physical Therapists and Osteopathic Physicians.
In 2016, I attended two courses in Cranial Sacral Therapy in Portland, Oregon. This type of therapy is very light work. It increases healing the body through increasing the function of Cranial Spinal Fluid throughout the spine and skull.
This was a fantastic course when we learned to use muscle energy to loosen tight muscle fibers. I use this technique often in my Therapeutic and Medical Massage practice.
To add some fun and interest I took a course from American College of Healthcare Sciences for Aromatherapy for Massage Therapists. This course outlined the benefits of Essential Oils when used on the body through direct application or Diffusion into the air. Many oils have antibacterial, antimicrobial, antifungal, etc. When researching essential oils you must be sure they are of the best Therapeutic quality. Some oils can be invigorating, cooling, and even help you breathe easier when allergy season arrives.
