Nicole has been involved in women’s health since 1997. She has been on many adventures since then. Her newest adventure is the start up of Restoring Balance. After years of practicing massage therapy, she decided to open RB in 2015, in hopes to provide the community of women in the Triangle area support thorough holistic wellness services. Her love of being with women started after attending the home birth of her good friend in 1995. She was amazed and knew immediately that home birth was something she needed to be a part of. Nicole took the first logical step in the world of birth and became a labor and postpartum Doula and was certified by DONA. At that time she lived in California and attended numerous home and hospital births. In 1998, Nicole attended Maternidad La Luz, in El Paso TX and became a Certified Professional Midwife. After living and working in Santa Barbara, California for 12 years as a CPM, she returned to Massachusetts where she was born, to have her own children and go to Nursing school.
In 2007 Nicole graduated as a Registered Nurse. Shortly after, the family moved to Chapel Hill, NC where Nicole was drawn to The Women’s Birth and Wellness Center, where she has been working as a nurse for the past 8 years. During these 8 years Nicole investigated the different ways people chose to hold on to their placenta. She found the idea of encapsulation and making placenta medicine very intriguing so she trained with Full Circle Encapsulation. She and Mariah run the business of encapsulation and love every minute of it!
