Kerri
rocks her specialties like Pete Townsend wails on guitar. Which is to
say, she moves uteri and talks a lot about menstruation, bringing
balance to your center, and helping you find your inner radiance, all
day long. Clearly, women’s health is core to her practice as a massage
therapist, in which she specializes in Maya Abdominal Therapy, massage
for menopause, and perinatal massage. She advocates that abdominal
massage can help ease PMS, endometriosis, PCOS, IBS, and incontinence. A
graduate of Body Therapy Institute in 2008, Kerri’s other modalities
include Swedish and myofascial massage, integrated with acupressure and
reflexology. Her work is often described as intuitive, meditative, and
contemplative, and is good for everyone. Kerri is involved in Women’s
circles around Durham, Chapel Hill, and Hillsborough and is working
towards integrating restorative movement therapy into her bodywork
practice.
When not giving or studying massage, Kerri can be found
playing with her two sons and husband, John Williford, most likely on
the Eno River, possibly knitting, or devouring her latest cookbook like
it’s a novel.
