In the past, she has many years worked as an RN and as a massage therapist in hospitals, chiropractor offices and  natural healthcare centers.

In Thailand, she had studied Thai Herbal in the fourth year of her nursing school as an elective subject. Upon graduating, she worked as a holistic nurse for the government in public healthcare centers and hospitals for many years. During the time she was working at the hospital, she had special training with physical therapists at Sirindhon National Medical Rehabilitation Centre (SNMRC) for patients with cerebrovascular diseases such as Stroke, Hemiplegia, Spinal injury, Cerebral Palsy, Amputation and Musculoskeletal pain.

She has also worked as a Holistic Health Care Provider with integrated Western and Eastern medicine in hospitals and communities, which includes teaching and training for over 15 years before her arrival in the U.S. In Thailand, Naphawan also owns a Thai herb store and an organic herb farm. Because of her background in holistic health and alternative medicine combined with her passion and expertise in Western and Eastern medicine,  she promotes holistic healing at her own practice in DC and VA.

Additionally, I'm an NCBTMB Approved Continuing Education Provider  and I offer personal and group classes.

Sports Massage

I got great experience in sport medicine when working with spine & sports rehab center. Also has years of experience treating athletes: runners, golfers, bikers, boxers and base ball players.

Thai Massage

My boss sent me to Traditional Thai Massage Program for healthcare providers when I was working in health promotion department at Sai Noi Hospital, Nonthaburi Province, Thailand. That was a part of my job. I got the best teacher in the country from Wat Pho, the first Traditional Thai Medicine University. He has over 30 years experience. That was so impressive and completely change my perspective. Since then I really in to it. I keep learning more and more and still amaze the wonderful benefits of Thai Massage.

Therapeutic Touch

As an RN, I had opportunity to train Therapeutic Touch and gave patients massages at Labour room, maternity and oncology unit in hospitals. When I was a nursing student after AM or PM Care. I gave massages to my patients especially elderly or patients with chronic illness, be in the bed for longtime or poor circulation to prevent bed sore, improve circulation and relief some discomfort.

Medical Massage

Over 25 years experience working with patients in the hospitals, healthcare facilities and chiropractor offices:spine & sports rehab, chronic pain, post injuries, post-surgeries, stiffness & tightness and musculoskeletal problems. Using varieties techniques such as: Trigger points, acupressure, advanced stretching, deep tissue, Thai medical massage, herbal compress, myofascial release, orthopedic, integrated neuromuscular re-education muscle energy therapy and positional release.

Thai Herbal Massage

I studied how to make herbal balls and how to use them for the patients with variety conditions from the Institute of Thai Traditional Medicine in Thailand. Using hot herbal balls that mixed with Thai herbs, compressing and massaging at problem areas.Great benefit for condition such as: severe or chronic pain (arthritis, fibromyalgia, frozen shoulder, neck & back pain), tightness and stiffness, post trauma or injuries, reduce pain & inflammatory and also good for detoxification. Clients get massage therapy, thermal therapy and aroma therapy in the same time.

Naphawan seems to always know how to pinpoint the cause of body aches and discomforts, and is able to apply the correct and effective treatment, including some that orthopedists and chiropractors were not able to address.

by Anyamanee on Jan 07
She takes time to let you know what muscles in the body that need attention and she lets you ignore exactly how they connect and how to provide relief.

Mahayana was amazing. I went for Thai massage due to recent shoulder injury from fall. The 90 minute session focused on the shoulder and associated regions like arm and neck. It has been 3 days since treatment and pain substantially reduced as compared to before session and range of motion also improved.
by Ellen on Dec 23
She took the time to work on the areas requiring the most treatment.
