I think sometimes massage intimidates people. There's so much that's unknown, and they certainly expect there to be pain if anything is going to be done to help them.
Well, I hate to put people in pain, and I like to take away some of the mystery that is involved in treating one's body. Does pain happen? Yes, sometimes it does, but it's not always necessary or to be expected with every therapeutic massage.
