I am an Iowa Girl with a passion for birth and babies! For as long as I can remember, I’ve been fascinated with pregnancy and birth. In 2015, I became a labor doula and I quickly realized birth work was for me. I decided to combine my excitement for birth with my passion for wellness and became a licensed massage therapist in 2019, specializing in prenatal, postpartum, and infant massage.

I am also a trained postpartum doula, placenta encapsulator, home birth assistant, and Stillbirthday bereavement doula. I trained with Stillbirthday in honor of my miscarried son, James.

During my own pregnancies and postpartum periods, I experienced first-hand the incredible highs and lows of new motherhood. Because of this, I’ve become even more inspired to serve women as they walk the journey. In 2021, I decided to pursue midwifery, which has been the calling placed on my heart since I was young.

Finally, in 2022, I started Christian Birthworkers of Central Iowa; a group of faith-filled people who care for families pre-conception, prenatally, and beyond.

Outside of birth & babies, I’ve taught piano for 10+ years and dream of owning a homestead. I enjoy spending time with my electrician husband, Connor, and busy little girls, Remi and Maisie. We love dancing (country or vintage swing) and cooking up tasty eats for entertaining guests.

Such a great prenatal massage. After the massage Katherine gave me some stretches that I can do at home based on what she felt. I will definitely be back!

Katherine is incredible. She is extremely knowledgeable and works on exactly what is requested. As a first time mom in her third trimester I have been experiencing severe hip pain since tri 2 and nothing has seemed to help. Katherine not only provided an amazing service to help relax this momma but also to decrease my pain. Even sent me home with some stretches that have been helpful as well.

Katherine at Genesis Birth & Massage was very knowledgeable on infant massage. My five month old loved it! Katherine was able to provide me with techniques that I can easily incorporate into his daily routine. Katherine made me feel at ease asking questions during the massage. I look forward to booking with Katherine in the future!
