Sarah is not your typical trainer. She went to college and earned her undergraduate and graduate degrees in Urban and Regional Planning from Ball State University. During this time she enjoyed being on her own immersed in an atmosphere of cheap dorm food and alcohol. She believes her saving grace (in terms of her health) was her newly chosen sport, rugby.

After college Sarah used her degrees to help create and build better neighborhoods and cities. While it may sound fascinating, most of her time was spent hunched over a computer in cubicle world. She continued playing rugby as an adult and found that playing for a better team meant she focused more on her diet and improving her fitness. When co-workers and clients would find out about her rugby habit and workouts, they often exclaimed (and sometimes proudly) such phrases as: “I can’t even remember the last time I ran”, “good for you – you beat people up for fun, I just go home and watch tv”, “I’m so out of shape I can’t even touch my toes”, and “I used to be fit, but once you lose it you can’t get it back”.

In 2014, after a decade of urban planning, Sarah quit her job to explore an interest in firefighting. She completed a 14-week Fire Academy (the last step of her two-year Associate in Fire Technology degree), became an EMT, and became a Volunteer Fire Fighter. Not bad for a 33-year old cubicle worker.

As fate would have it, a relationship called her to move to Colorado. She started her career back up as a planner (part-time) while she helped to create an integrative wellness clinic in Denver. Finally realizing that her pursuits in fitness, sports, and diet and lifestyle changes could positively impact others, she earned her certification as a Personal Trainer so that she can help people realize their potential.

Her goal is to help “ordinary” people (like her former cubicle co-workers) gain the fitness and health that they think may be unreachable, and empower them to dream big!
