I studied injury-specific lymphatic drainage to help assist people recovering from overuse, surgical trauma, or physical trauma. This training allows me to facilitate the movement of lymph fluid out of the site of injury or bruising. During massage school training, I fell in love with Thai Yoga Massage. The depth, the beauty, and healing of this modality astounded me. So... I found a program in Laos that would allow me to focus on Thai bodywork. I spent an entire month in southeast Asia studying with renowned teachers of Thai Yoga Massage. Bodyworkers from around the world and I immersed ourselves in study, practice, and helping each other heal. As a result of this training, I adapted my Thai massage style to focus not only on musculature, but also the joints and fascia. Trauma Touch Therapy is a collaborative healing process that creates a safe space for client and therapist to work towards personal empowerment and connection to the body. We may explore movement, touch, ownership, play, communication, breathwork, and art. Over 10 sessions, these activities can help diminish the neurological effects of trauma and provide tools to reconnect to one's body and life.
After a 5-year yoga practice, I wanted a deeper look into the mysterious healing of yoga.
