Dedric Carroll is the Founder and Clinical Director of Empirical Knead, a science-informed medical massage and neuromuscular therapy practice. With over 15 years of experience as a massage therapist and educator, Dedric brings a rare depth of clinical insight to every session.

For more than 13 years, he has collaborated on clinical research with Emory University, contributing to multiple peer-reviewed publications examining the efficacy of massage therapy in addressing inflammatory conditions, including generalized anxiety disorder and cancer-related fatigue. This research-driven foundation informs a highly precise, evidence-based approach to bodywork.

Dedric’s work integrates neuromuscular therapy, structural integration, and fascia-informed techniques to create individualized treatments designed to improve function, reduce pain, and enhance quality of life. As the architect of the Empirical Knead model, he also mentors and trains the Empirical Knead therapists, ensuring every client receives care grounded in clinical research, skilled assessment, and thoughtful execution.

My husband is a quadriplegic, and therefore, I have been apprehensive in taking him for a massage. Dedric is very qualified, knowledgeable, and listens to our concerns, while focusing on problem areas. Since we have started this journey, my husband has had a significant reduction in spasms, better blood circulation, less pain/tightness, and better mood. His range of motion has greatly improved. Dedric is soulfully talented at the work that he does. I have never met a massage therapist with his degree of knowledge or ability to diagnose, imbalances, simply by looking at the way you stand. He uses a beautiful combination of modalities to create lasting relief and bring balance to the body. Truly cannot recommend him highly enough.
