I offer Reiki and massage therapy for people and pets.
Reiki is a Japanese's healing art that places hands on different places on the body to help the body heal. If you are hurt or sick the body holds all of that in and once you release it you can heal better and faster. The way I describe how it works is this: Your body is made with over 3 trillion cells! All of these cells are moving around, bumping into each other. Which causes friction which releases heat which creates light. The light is at a frequency that most of use cant see. But our furry friends can. That's why they find the places that hurt the most and seek them out by sitting on them because they can see and feel the difference between healing and sick. But it is there and we can use this energy to heal. The energy can either pull in one area or be absent. It closes the holes and moves stagnant energy to healthy flowing energy. It was in the late 1800's Dr Mikao Usui found Reiki. He was the president of a small Christian University in Kyoto, Japan. He studied Christianity and Buddhism trying to find a way to heal both the mind and the body at the same time. The results are now what we practice as Reiki. Our Furry friends really respond well to Reiki especially cats and horses.
I offer Swedish massage and Shiatsu. For Swedish massage I specialize in relaxation and rejuvenation. Shiatsu it a Chinese massage. In this kind of body work the recipient like in Reiki keeps there cloths on and uses different areas on the body that corresponds to different organs in the body that form channels through out the body. The channels are the same as used in Acupuncture. I use pressure points on the body to give you healing cleansing. You will feel relaxed and energized at the same time. Dogs really love this kind of massage.
So a little about myself, my name is Andrea and I am 41 years old. I live with my partner Mark and we live in a house in Dallas, Oregon with our 11 year old pug Eowyn (pronounces AA-OH-WIN) who is also a service dog and our 11 year old Siamese / Maine coon mix cat named Shadow Fax (just fax for short). Yes some of you fellow The Lord of the Rings geeks will know where those names came from. I graduated from Oregon School of Massage and got licensed in 2016 and created The Dragon and the Phoenix Healing Arts, LLC in June 2017. I also went to school to become a Vet Tech ( a nurse for animals) in 2005 and work for 10 years as a tech. I am a disabled veteran who served in the Navy. I got hurt and had to be discharged and I found massage and Reiki to be one of the only things that helped my chronic pain. I wanted to give that same hope and healing to others. So that is why I work with both people and pets. Dogs, cats, horses and people all deserve healing and to live pain free. All veterans, first responders and service animals get discounts here. Getting into a little about massage and bodywork for animals (and people too). They have the same pain receptors and body systems just like us. Dogs and cats have such good attitudes and want to make us happy before themselves. Now its time we help them for once. Cats and horses (dogs too) especially love energy work which is Reiki and Shiatsu is the best for them. Dogs like massage with range of motion stretching and some energy work mixed in.
I work out of my house to see our human guests and I come to you to see your pets. My hours are Tuesday-Saturday noon to 5pm. People and Pets. Saturday by appt only I come to you wither its you or your pets. I work on people, dogs, cats and horses.
My pricing is as follows:
People: $65 for 1 hour of Reiki, $65 for 1 hour Swedish massage. $85 for 90 min shiatsu massage.
