Laurie Kessen is a licensed physical therapist assistant and massage therapist. With her background in physical therapy, she has an in depth knowledge of how the body moves and the compensatory patterns it can develop. While working as a PTA, she became certified in a manual therapy technique called the MyoKinesthetic System which balances the muscles and improves your postural alignment which allows for reduced pain and improved range of motion.

Performing more hands on treatments also made her interested in learning more about massage therapy. She decided to enroll in a massage therapy program so she could learn more in depth techniques and become licensed as a massage therapist. Laurie strongly believes that massage therapy is an important part of reducing stress and blood pressure, releasing chronic muscle tension and pain thereby preventing and correcting dysfunctional movement patterns and improving joint flexibility. She believes it should be a part of everyone’s wellness and self-care program.

Laurie is truly amazing! I initially went to her for my lower back problem, but during our conversation, I also mentioned my reflux issue. She was incredibly helpful and provided me with effective solutions that have now completely eliminated my reflux problem. Thanks to her, I no longer have to wake up in the middle of the night to take tums.
