I have been on my healing path since 1998, in my early 20's when I began my practice of yoga. After my 1st YTT in 2004, I met my mentor Brian Campbell, on the Big Island of Hawai'i the following year. He introduced me to the Forrest Yoga system, and invited me to visit him and his family in Los Angeles. He was a faculty member of the Shiatsu Massage School of California, in Santa Monica, teaching Pain & Orthopedic Evaluation along with Anatomy, and was teaching Forrest Yoga at Exhale Venice. I embarked on an informal apprenticeship with Brian in 2005, learning bodywork techniques from him one on one, until I took my 1st 30 HR Thai Massage Training in 2007, followed by a 300 HR Shiatsu Diploma A & B Training at SMSC, in 2009. I continue to learn from and train with my mentor, including taking part in his YogaBodyworkers Workshops, most recently in 2019.

I began as a student of DH in 2003, after 5 years experience as a yogi in college. I joined his donation classes while living briefly in Columbia, Missouri. After being a dedicated student arriving more than 3 times per week, he offered to certify me. My 1st thought was, "I likely cannot afford it" and he replied that he only selects students for his YTT after they have attended his classes regularly for a year. The tuition has already been paid by your consistent attendance. This delighted me beyond belief, and I completed his YTT in 2004, before moving to the Big Island of Hawai'i.
After 12 years of experiencing Forrest Yoga as a student, I completed my 200HR certification in Berlin, Germany, over a 26 day period. My mentor, Brian Campbell, was the lead assistant to Ana Forrest. In addition to soaking up all the magic that this training provided, I was tapped to play bamboo flutes during yoga ceremonies each day, adding value to the program as well as my own sense of self.
I completed this 10 day course in Edinburgh Scotland to hone my teaching of Forrest Yoga, with Jambo Truong & Brian Campbell as Mentee Instructors. In addition to honing our teaching craft, we did seeing exercises to ascertain compensational patterns within the body, a very useful skill for both yoga and bodywork.
I worked on staff as a massage therapist for these amazing yoga festivals various times after my 300 HR training in Los Angeles. These environments provided valuable experiences and networking opportunities, working closely with other therapists in a dynamic setting.
My 1st setting as a therapist at a healing center in Portland OR, it provided rich access to the types of clients and their specific needs as we created treatment plans for their desired goals and outcomes.
I attended and completed this 50HR 10 day course highlighting structural muscles through the dual lenses of yoga & bodywork. The structure is 3 hours of yoga ceremony and songs followed by 5 hours of lectures, presentations and bodywork techniques for those structural muscles.
I completed another version of the YogaBodyworkers Training, this time in Chiang Mai, Thailand in 2019. While the format was similar, the subject matter included new techniques as well as different yoga asanas to address the structural muscles of the body.
