I'm Mary, owner and therapist at Vieux Chene Therapeutic Massage in Cookeville, TN. I've been a Massage Therapist since 2010 but this has been my dream job since I was 13 years old. I got into massage because I wanted to help people. My father was an Iron Worker, and as they sometimes do, he had a few falls and accidents through the years that left him hurting more often than not. He would come home and ask me to rub his shoulders back, ankles or feet. I would, of course, and he would always tell me how much better he felt afterwards. It made me feel good that I could help him (even if he was just being sweet to his child). I really liked that feeling and knew that I wanted to do this for a living. Fortunately or unfortunately, life had a few twists and turns in store for me (including joining the U.S. Air Force) so it took me 30 years to finally get near enough to a school that taught Massage Therapy that I could commute to.

I enrolled at Milan Institute in Boise, Idaho in 2009 and graduated in 2010 with a 3.64 GPA. I incorporate multiple styles of massage into what works for my clients needs specializing in medium to deep pressure massage. I'm an ABMP member in good standing, Licensed in the beautiful State of Tennessee.
