I am grateful to have learned from an early age the passion I have for massage therapy. As a young girl living in Columbus, Ohio, I would eagerly await my father's homecoming so I could massage his feet after a long day. The comfort and therapeutic benefits we both experienced helped me realize the importance of sharing this gift to help others. I later determined that to do so required something very important: the ability to gather and understand pertinent client information regarding their symptoms and pain levels, while at the same time, developing an environment of trust that allows clients the freedom to provide feedback regarding the therapist's touch. As the parent of a special needs son who lacks the verbal ability to provide such feedback, I was often at a loss to know how to help him. As I learned to develop expertise in various areas of communication (verbal, non-verbal and skilled touch) I was better equipped to meet his needs, as well as, others. As I engage in my profession today as a licensed massage therapist, I try to draw from this experience by providing a safe surrounding for my clients. Within this environment, clients can express their health goals; in addition to any pain they may be experiencing and provide honest feedback. This approach, along with the incorporation of highly effective modalities, enhances the body's own healing process and aids in the client's wellbeing.
Training:
As a certified Active Release Techniques (ART) provider, (a patented, state of the art soft tissue technique that incorporates the active participation of the client) I am passionate about helping clients meet their health/fitness goals.
Additional highlights of my bodywork training, all of which further enhances homeostasis, include:
I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from The Ohio State University and received my Diploma in massage therapy from Heritage College. I also received my Full Body Certification in Active Release Techniques. While continuing to learn all I can about new massage therapies, I love helping others in my community, running, spending time with my family and Harry my Old English Sheepdog. I look forward to welcoming you to The art of Massage by Kitty, LLC.

Massage Therapy
Full Body Certified, (ART) Active Release Techniques
At The Winchester Institute I had the pleasure and opportunity to work with a variety of clients as a licensed massage therapist (LMT). This work environment exposed me to a variety of musculoskeletal/soft tissue challenges. In serving this special clientele, I was able to learn about many different conditions affecting the body and utilize my experience to help clients feel better and encourage them in their road to good health and wellness!
