A deep tissue session is especially helpful for chronically tense and contracted areas such as stiff necks, low back tightness, and sore shoulders. Deep tissue massage may take time to loosen up those muscles that are severely tight. You should feel some relief after the first session, but for us to get deeper and alleviate the problem, it is best to come often, before the muscles tense up again. In my regular clients, I have seen increased mobility, improvement of posture, decreased pain of osteoarthritis and fibromyalgia. Recovery from injuries (e.g. whiplash, falls, sports injury) Repetitive strain injury, such as carpal tunnel syndrome Postural problems Ostearthritis pain Fibromyalgia Muscle tension or spasm
As well as my education I received in Hot Stone Massage at Southeastern Institute; I also am certified through Hand and Stone Massage & Facial Spa. I work with hot stones on a regular basis. They are extremely helpful in aiding in the softening of the tissue, so that the therapist is able to access deeper muscles. Hot Stones are made of basalt, which is lava rock, they hold the heat well and the minerals in the stone may have some pain relieving properties. Hot Stone Massage is also recommended for those with arthritis or other chronic pain. As one client said, " the stones warm you down to the bone."
Swedish massage is one of the gentlest forms or massage. I always customize my techniques to fit the client's need.A deep tissue session is especially helpful for chronically tense and contracted areas such as stiff necks, low back tightness, and sore shoulders. There are many conditions and symptoms that myofascial release (MFR) therapy addresses. Many clients seek myofascial treatment after losing flexibility or function following an injury or if experiencing ongoing back, shoulder, hip, or pain in any area containing soft tissue. Symptoms usually include: tightness of the tissues that restricts motion or pulls the body out of alignment, causing them to favor and overuse one hip or shoulder, for example, a sense of excessive pressure on muscles or joints that produces pain. Some Myofascial Release therapy is incorporated in many of my massages, especially those who work hard and don't receive regular massages. Muscles tighten and the fascia tighten too, feeling like a tight wrapping around your muscles. . Pain in any part or parts of the body, including headache or back pain. Myofascial release (MFR) therapy focuses on releasing muscular shortness and tightness. Other conditions treated by myofascial release therapy include Temporo-Mandibular Joint (TMJ) disorder, carpal tunnel syndrome, or possibly fibromyalgia or migraine headaches.
Chair massage is useful for much more than tight shoulders. We help with your back and hips, work on hands and arms, relieving tight wrists and fingers. We can employ some stretches, especially helpful around shoulders. Chair massage is also useful for those who cannot lie down.
