I've been practicing massage for over a decade and have seen a lot of patterns in pain and restrictions in range of motion. Everyday you are conditioning your body whether you are a competitive athlete, a student or a busy parent. We repeat movements and the body adapts to the demands by adjusting muscle tension, muscle length and the surrounding fascia. Massage is not a cure all but it is a very powerful tool to add to your self care regimen. By releasing knots, muscle tension, fascia adhesions and resetting the muscle spindle, you can begin to move more freely and stimulate sleeping muscles outside of your regularly programed movement patterns. The body WILL heal itself if it is given the time and tools.
